Pro-Dbeibeh force imposes 30-day ban on demonstration in Tripoli

government - June 3, 2022

An armed force affiliated with the government of Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh has decided to impose a 30-day ban on public demonstration in Tripoli in coordination with the capital’s security authorities.

The so-called Constitution and Elections Support Force, which was established by Dbeibeh in early 2022, made the announcement via its Facebook page, and added that the 30-day ban could potentially be extended.

The force claimed that any protest that demands electricity, recovery for the wounded or increase of salaries aim to “destabilize the security of the capital”. It also warned that those who violate the ban will be held “legally accountable”.
