Stallion Auto Keke Limited, a member of the Stallion Group and the Sole Distributor of the world-leading Bajaj 3-wheelers & 4-wheelers in Nigeria has announced tremendous growth and significant successes despite the many challenges as it celebrates its first anniversary in the Nigeria market.

Speaking on the Anniversary and the company’s journey since it began operations, the Managing Director, Stallion Auto KeKe Limited, Mr Manish Rohtagi, stated that Stallion Auto Keke Limited or Stallion-Bajaj, as the company is mostly referred to has emerged stronger and better despite the Nigerian socio-economic and environmental challenges like stiff competition, shifting consumer mindset, increase in the foreign exchange rate, stringent government policies (Keke ban across some states) and more.

“We are excited to announce that we have recorded over 10,000 happy customers and more than 50,000 Keke sales across the country. It was indeed remarkable when we recorded a market share (India Export Figures) of 49% during the financial year 20-21 against 35% during 19-20. Precisely, we achieved a market share of 55% in the last quarter of the FY 20-21, Jan-Mar’21, and not only that, we have made huge inroads in East, Ibadan and Lagos.

“It is noteworthy that we are also delivering huge value to the Nigerian society through our various initiatives. We are committed to the empowerment of Nigerians in general and especially young women which is why our expansive Stallion Empowerment Initiative (SEI) programme focuses on female three-wheeler drivers, mechanical training and assembling. More than 2000 young women have benefited. In addition to this, we train females on financial management, inventory management and other aspects of management.

“We have not only trained females but also hired them in our assembly plants and as field mechanics. We also arrange for loans and driving licenses for them to ensure their upliftment. Many females are now earning 3 to 5 times what they used to earn before our interventions. Currently, we have around 20% females with a commitment to make it 33% by the end of the year 2022. In line with this vision, 40 women have been trained and integrated into our VON assembly plant in Lagos, Nigeria, our goal is to train and absorb 500 female technicians by 2022. We also run park by park activations and launched a special ‘Pan Nigeria Keke Rally’ where we inform customers about our product features and benefits and many more,” he said.

Rohtagi disclosed that the company’s relentless effort has always been on delivering international quality Kekes and creating value for all its stakeholders – its people, customers, and the communities around them. “Despite several unfavourable factors that marred the year 2020 especially the COVID-19 Pandemic, we continued to excite Nigerians with lots of activities which directly and indirectly positively impact the Nigerian economy”, he added.

In November last year, the company launched the most superior keke ever seen in Nigeria, the RE 250 along with the unveiled of Nigeria’s superstar footballer Jay-Jay Okocha in the presence of over 100 keke dealers & other prominent members at an event held in Lagos. The launch of the Superkeke was themed, “Bigger Heart, Stronger Body” to mark the brand’s association with the legendary football star and the company’s desire to provide a better, stronger and more reliable keke for the Nigerian people.

“This partnership with Jay-Jay Okocha has proven to be a great support and an asset to the brand as many exclusive dealers of our competitors have come around to partner with us and many more are in waiting to join us. Ever since then, the company which now has a footprint of more than 150 locations across Nigeria, has also continued to leverage its partnership with finance houses and microfinance banks like… to provide its teeming customers with the needed financing scheme,” Rohtagi said.

Appreciating all the company’s key stakeholders, Rohtagi commended them for their invested contributions to the growth of the company. “All that we have achieved today is mostly possible due to the strong policies of the Stallion Group which are – Customer-friendliness, Dealer-friendliness and Vendor-friendliness. We also appreciate the support of our media partners who have helped echo customer feedbacks which has guided us on this journey to become No.1.”

Rohtagi further reaffirmed the company’s commitment to the development of the country – Nigeria in general and Nigerians as a people specifically, explaining that the company would continue to roll out more expansive youth and women-focused empowerment programmes.
