HNEC: Total number of registered voters has now exceeded 2.5 million

The High National Elections Commission (HNEC) announced the registration of 2,560,088 voters, as of Tuesday.

The HNEC confirmed in a news release that the number of newly registered voters has reached 219,992 since the opening of the voter registration on the fourth of this month, indicating that the percentage of registered voters has now reached 52.91%.

The head of the HNEC, Imad Al-Sayeh, announced the onset of updating the voter register, which began since the fourth of this month, set to run until the end of the month, subject to a possible extension, pointing out that the voter registration is done by text message, through official channels set up with the Al-Madar and Libyana telephone networks.
