aviation - February 13, 2021

A Libyan Airlines flight on Wednesday landed at Benina Airport in Benghazi, coming from Mitiga Tripoli, to mark the resumption of flights between the two cities after a hiatus of nearly two years.

The airlines' spokesman Muhammad Qeniwa, who was on the flight said in a statement that they received a warm welcome from their colleagues at Benina Airport.

'The resumption of flights between Tripoli and Benghazi comes within the efforts made to unify the company's management' Qeniwa explained.

The airline confirmed it will begin operating flights between the capital Tripoli and the second-largest city, Benghazi but did not release any timetable yet.

The flights between the two cities were suspended in April 2019 following Khalifa Haftar's aggression against Tripoli.
