Bedaya offers platform for five start-ups at Heya fashion expo

Bedaya Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Center) is participating in the 15th edition of Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition being held under the patronage of Her Excellency Sheikha al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.
The exhibition will run until April 30, 2019.
Earlier, Bedaya opened the door for registration to select from the applicants, only five start-up candidates under specific terms and conditions were selected. The terms and conditions stated that the start-up must be Qatari, must be home-based and has no commercial premises and must be new in business.
Priority has been given to the start-ups that have a home licence or a commercial licence.
The permitted lines of business to apply were fashion (except children wear), bags, shoes, perfumes and fashion accessories.
The five chosen participants have been selected by a jury based on the quality of deliverables and the suitability for the event.
The five selected start-ups, participating under Bedaya’s umbrella at the 2019’s edition of Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition are Amna signature, Trtr.qa and BelleAme Designs, which are operating in the fashion line of business, in addition to Violet Perfumes and Lothan Perfumes, which are working in the perfumes and bakhour industries.
Reem al-Sowaidi, general manager of Bedaya Center, said: “First of all, I extend my gratitude to the National Tourism Council and to Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition’s management for inviting us and supporting the participation of emerging women’s projects presenting their products under the umbrella of Bedaya Center. We at Bedaya Center spares no effort in supporting local women in the field of entrepreneurship. The participation at this year’s edition of Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition’s confirms Qatari women’s exposure to the market and their knowledge and competitiveness in various sectors.”
“We are participating today with five start-up projects operating in the fields of fashion, abayas, Perfumes and bakhour. We sought, through this participation, to support those entrepreneurial women in the best possible way, especially by offering them the opportunity to take part in one of the most important and specialised exhibitions in the region, which would add as a great boost for their business and help them in overcoming all the obstacles to their access to this exciting entrepreneurial journey,” she added.
