Ethiopian Airlines deploys High-tech to boost passenger check-in process

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (ADV) – Ethiopian Airlines has deployed the ‘Self Check-in Initiative’ to fast-track check-in process for customers who will henceforth use their mobile phones.

A statement by the leading carrier on Saturday said the new ‘Self Check-in Initiative’ provides a hassle-free check-in experience with self-service channels, including mobile phone, web, kiosk and auto check-in without having to go to the airport.

Henceforth, passengers can get their boarding pass via Ethiopian Mobile Application or Ethiopian Website.

The Auto Check-in also enables domestic passengers to get their boarding pass by email 3 hours before departure time, by only providing their email address at the time of booking.

Further to that, the Self Check-in Initiative responds to passenger’s demand for a more seamless travel experience, and enables passengers buy tickets, pay online and check-in at their convenience, the statement concluded.

Last November, Ethiopian Airlines bagged the 2018 Best Airlines in Africa for the 7th consecutive year in row. Ethiopian received the award in recognition of its” exceptional financial performance at the 50th high profile African Airline Association Annual General Assembly in Rabat, Morocco”.
