Italian group VueTel to connect Africa and US

VueTel has landed in the United States. The Italian firm specialising in international telcoms that has a market presence in North Africa and sub-Saharan Africa has given life to VueTel Usa, activating an exchange in New York that links the US to Africa.

The operational headquarters are located in Holmdel, New Jersey, while the technical infrastructure is located in New York. The aim is to invest over 1 billion euros to expand its wholesale voice and data services. Following its US launch the group is now focusing on sprividing data and antifraud services based on principles of artificial intelligence, dedicated to large-size companies and corporations. The group has entered a market characterised by the presence of large players that often are not directly focused on Africa. The continent has seen a major growth in fixed and mobile connectivity. According to Internet World States data, the number of internet users has risen from approximately 4.5 million in 2010 to nearly 350 million in 2017. In Africa the group is present in Tunisia, where it has established the local company ''VueTelSi'', Egypt, Algeria, Libya, Benin, Togo, Niger, Mali, Ghana, Nigeria, Burkina Faso and Angola.
