EDO receives 1,800 Libya returnees

The Edo State Government said it has so far received about 1,800 returnees who were deported from Libya.

Daily Trust reports that the returnees were among thousands of other Nigerians airlifted by the Federal Government.

The Secretary, Edo State Anti-human Trafficking Task Force, Mrs. Oyemwense Abieyuwa, who disclosed this, said 49 returnees, comprising 37 males, 11 females was received last Friday.

Abieyuwa stated, “We have about 1,800 returnees. It (operation) has been going on smoothly to the glory of God. Medically, they (returnees) are being attended to and we are trying to keep up to ensure that they are properly rehabilitated.”
